The Allen Community Band honors the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with a musical tribute.

The program will offer a combination of patriotic selections and pieces written for the September 11 remembrance. William Luther, an award-winning journalist with the San Antonio Express who was in New York City covering the tragedy, will share his recollections.

Some notable musical selections include a version of “Taps”arranged by band member Derek Molacek and performed by trumpet soloist Kevin Purcell, the official Department of Defense arrangement of “The Star-Spangled Banner”performed by all U.S. military bands, and a variety of songs composed as tributes to victims of 9/11.

Welcome to the Allen Community Band
The Allen Community Band was established in 2013 as a non-profit, all volunteer organization. We provide musicians from the City of Allen and surrounding areas the opportunity to perform a variety of music, while growing their skills as individual musicians and as an ensemble.
